Adding Labels to Visualizations in Kartorium

Once you have imagery in a project, you can start adding more data to it. Kartorium enables you to customize visualizations using the Label feature, allowing you to annotate and include additional information in your visualizations.

Workflow for Adding Tags

Step 1: Open the Features Tab

  1. Navigate to the Features tab in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Create Feature button at the bottom of the left panel.
  3. Select "Label" or "Icon" from the drop-up menu.

Step 2: Place the Label or Icon

  1. After selecting "Label" or "Icon," click on the model where you'd like to place the tag.
    • The tag will be positioned at the intersection of your cursor and the model.
  2. Use the bottom center of the screen to change the type of tag:
    • Text: Add text-based tags.
    • Icon: Use an icon as your tag.

Step 3: Configure the Tag

  1. Once the tag is placed, you may need to resize the tag so that it's appropriately sized for its context. When selected (you can use the left panel for this if you can't see it immediately), use the transform controls to change the position, size, and rotation of the tag
  2. Use the right panel to configure its visual appearance + New Project

Step 4: Add Details to the Tag

  1. Click on the Feature Details button to open a dialog box.
  2. Use the What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) text editor to add information to the tag.
    • By default, labels are set to "Open Details on Click", meaning users interacting with the label in the Viewer can view the added details in a read-only format by simply clicking on it
  3. Additional customization options:
    • Adding Custom Fields.
    • Attaching files to the label.

This workflow allows you to annotate your visualizations with meaningful information, making your data-rich imagery interactive and informative.
