Scenes

Projects can be segmented into scenes. Scenes make up the various 3D environments in which you can place individual features.

Scene Type Description
Map This is a 3D GIS environment. You can GIS-specific features, like lines, polygons, markers, and raster imagery. Map scenes also support 3D data as well, allowing you to drop point clouds and meshes directly on the map. Map scenes also support GeoJSON imports, automatically creating Kartorium GIS features from the file.
Standard Standard scenes are empty 3D environments. This allows you to add in various 3D data, as well as add annotation-type features.
360° Image These scenes use a 360° image as the background. 3D and annotation-type features can be layered on top of the image as needed.
Virtual Tour Virtual Tours are created from .e57 exports from a variety of terrestrial laser scanner manufacturers. We currently support .e57s from Matterport, NavVis, and Leica. Virtual Tour scenes will have a point cloud backdrop, with overlaid "viewpoints" that allow you to step into the captured panoramic images. In these scenes, you'll still be able to utilize annotation-type and 3D features.
